Job overview Employer led : - Through our renowned apprenticeship programme you will work towards an SVQ Level 2, Level 3 and NC qualification following the Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering framework. The apprentice will attend Edinburgh College at Harding Green, Dalkeith, for the first year of the apprenticeship completing Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and NC in Manufacturing Engineering, returning to Forbes Technologies, Kelso for the next 3 years to complete Level 3 prior to obtaining their Modern Apprenticeship. You will be trained in aspects of Fitting & assembly work, Milling and Turning and, on return from College, will be Mentored and given the opportunity to work within all departments and disciplines of engineering in the manufacture of our product range What will I learn? You will learn to manufacture products for use in worldwide organisations. You will learn manufacturing methods, inspection processes and lean processes. You will understand the importance of team work and learn from those who are around you, key areas which you will learn during your apprenticeship are: Health and Safety Interpretation of Technical communication (technical drawings and specifications) Team work Problem solving Turning & Milling Fitting & Assembly Plastic welding processes What qualification or qualities are required? You should be honest, reliable, hardworking individual who is up for a challenge and enjoys working with others and gaining success. SCQF 5 (National 5, Intermediate 2, Credit standard grade, ME level 1 in English, Maths and 1 other qualification preferably science based.
