Job Category: Engineering Job Location: Belfast, County Antrim, United Kingdom As Engineering Manager you will join a successful Public Body team to lead a team of Engineers to ensure efficient management and be accountable as the technical authority within the Technical Engineering Team, ensuring that programmes of work are designed, developed and delivered. You will be responsible for providing both leadership and direction to the team of professional Engineers but ultimately acting as the technical authority. This role will involve oversight and delivery of Performance measurement and analysis, Delivery of technical resolutions, Training function within Bus and Rail Engineering. As Engineering Manager your new role will also include but not be limited to the following: Proactively engage with senior team members within Engineering, Bus Operations and Rail Operations to deliver fleet availability and performance to deliver operational excellence. Responsible for establishing technical specifications, maintenance instructions, defect trouble shooting and providing support for Fleet Engineering Teams. Establish controls and practices to ensure that performance is accurately monitored and analysed. Oversee that the team robustly investigate safety and performance. Direct and control OEMs, suppliers and internal team members to develop solutions that resolve technical faults affecting safety and performance. Lead the team to manage the introduction of new fleet into the fleet, ensuring maintenance and inspection documentation is developed for publication, to the broader engineering team. Lead the team to manage the introduction of new technology such as zero emission drivelines into the fleet. Produce, maintain and update documentation as required including training programmes, bulletins, presentations, etc. Create a training programme that supports the drive for continuous improvement.A full job description and application form can be provided upon request. To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of a Degree level or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline, as well as possessing Chartered Surveyor status or can demonstrate working towards chartered status. Essential experience should also include the following: Experience of managing people within an engineering environment, including allocation of projects and managing the workload. Experience of managing interfaces within an engineering environment. Experience of contract and financial management Knowledge of bus (commercial vehicle) and/or rail vehicle technologies, engineering and maintenance requirement.
