Engineering Manager

Are you an experienced and qualified Engineering Manager with CoMAH site experience within the chemicals sector?You will be site based and report directly to the Site Manager in Sunderland.The ideal candidate will have:A formal engineering degree in electrical/ mechanical engineering or a similar relevant discipline.Demonstrated experience in leading small to medium sized multidiscipline engineering teams.Knowledge and experience working at a top tier CoMAH site.Experience in managing people, assets and utilities.Competency with legislative paperwork and environmental, health and safety regulations - preferably up to date with CDM regulations.Strong business management, budget control and project management skills.Effective communication and multitasking abilities, with a proactive and solution focussed mind-set.Your role would include:Managing an experienced team of engineers and technicians.Supporting and controlling maintenance activities, systems, equipment and processes in compliance with QHSE requirements and Company guidelines.Working closely with the Engineering Supervisor, overseeing their work schedule and allocation of work to the technicians.Supporting the Site Manager in all aspects of his work and deputising in his absence.Facilitation of shutdown work; ensuring all equipment is in order and defects are reported and managed appropriately.Assessment, review and planning of capex projects for new plant and/or equipment coming to site, working closely with supplier/s.Delivering continuous improvement to optimise efficiency and reliability.Budget control, inventory and ongoing development and performance management of the team.This is an opportunity to join a leading global and environmentally focused company who offer a positive and rewarding culture where employees are valued – This is demonstrated by an excellent track record of staff retention and promotion within the company.A competitive package is available to the successful candidate consisting of £50 - £60K basic salary dependent on experience, healthcare and pension.If you think you would be a great fit for this role please contact Danielle McConnell at danielle@elevenrecruitment.com or 07516 399626. Note – You must currently be living in the UK with permanent residency and rights to work in the UK to apply for this role.
