Job Title: Engineering Buyer Salary: £35,000 - £38,000Location: Ashbourne - Near Derby, Stoke & Leek. Our client, based in Location: Ashbourne (Near Derby, Stoke & Leek) are looking to recruit an Engineering Buyer on a permanent basis to ensure that goods, materials, components and services are purchased in line with delivery, quality and cost for projects.Key responsibilities as a Engineering Buyer:Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methodsProvide opportunities for cost savings, ensuring that quality and delivery is maintainedWork closely with Production and the Project Team to place all orders in line with the Build ScheduleUse engineering/manufacturing knowledge to ensure that engineering drawings are tendered within the subcontract process and liaise with suppliers as requiredFollow the progress of an order with suppliers and initiate remedial action to allow production activities to stay on trackMeasure and control the reliability of suppliers concerning costExamine job cost reports for inconsistencies, such as mischargesProcess and resolve invoice queriesKey skills required as a Engineering Buyer:Have worked within a similar purchasing roleAn understanding of engineeringAble to read engineering drawingsUnderstanding of production schedulesExcellent negotiation skillsTeam playerExcellent communication skillsThis Engineering Buyer vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Appointments Personnel who are operating as an employment agency
