Market Job Description EMEA Controllers group is responsible for regulatory, financial, and management reporting requirements in the region. As well as forming a key part of the International Controllers organization, the team provides local support for varied financial services business lines as well as the EMEA CFO/management team.This role will report to the Regulatory Controller, with responsibility for oversight of the control environment supporting accurate and timely Regulatory Reporting covering a range of EMEA legal entities. The role will operate in conjunction with stakeholder within the team and across Wells Fargo to help develop best in class control structures as part of a process of constant enhancement.Primary areas of responsibility Responsible for overall management and coordination of the control agenda impacting EMEA Controllers, acting as a clear point of ownership for both internal and external stakeholdersImplement governance structures within the EMEA Controller team to help manage key elements of the control & risk management agenda in an agile and transparent fashionSupport ongoing development of a robust and comprehensive regulatory reporting control frameworkEngage with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a clear view on best in class control principles, and regulatory expectations – embed governance processes to perform recurring gap analysis against those expectations, and drive remediation where necessaryDevelop relationships with key stakeholders charged with managing the firmwide control agenda (including stakeholders across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defence), and act as the initial point of contact/subject matter expert for control related matters impacting the EMEA Controller teamSupport development of a ‘best in class’ EMEA Controller team, and by extension the International Controllers organization by aligning to key principles and priorities set by the International Controller and EMEA CFOSupport the digital transformation agenda within the EMEA Controller function, as a way of mitigating operational risk, ensuring that key control principles are embedded at the heart of automation and efficiency effortsEngage with key stakeholders to support planning, testing and implementation of projects and initiatives, which affect the regulatory reporting teams, ensuring key control principles are embedded in new processes, infrastructure etcSupport and coordinate management of control weaknesses in line with bank protocols, including assessing, recommending and supporting remediation for all identified issues in line with agreed timelinesEnsure operational documentation is maintained and is best in classIn addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. Market Skills and Certifications Skills/Experience Required: Experience managing control activity within a financial & regulatory controller teamKnowledge of financial services/productsStrong knowledge of core regulatory and financial reporting responsibilities and outputs (capital & liquidity, financial & statistical, and core financial reporting)Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a team structure.Innovative mindset, with a track record of process enhancement, and knowledge of tools and products to support effective transformationClear understanding of control principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively and influence control and risk management stakeholders across the firmClear understanding of internal and external expectations/policies in respect of controls and governanceStrong communication skills, with the ability to present concisely and accurately to senior audiencesIntuitive; fast learner with good problem solving skills.Good time management and organisational skills.
