JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description SummaryThe Repair Cell Technician will ensure company repair KPI’s are met, Investigate, and repair a full range of protection relays and optical CT’s, providing a detailed analysis of repairs carried out. You will also Investigate all production/field PCB failures daily and provide the Quality and POST department with trend analysis in failure modes to improve first time past rate and reliability of products in the field.Job DescriptionMain duties and responsibilities will include :Testing products using test specificationsFollowing wiring and assembly diagrams to fault find and repair products.Performing assembly and wiring of productsCarrying out diagnostic fault-finding down to component level on PCB’s.Creating test reportsTo work with optical fibresSoldering/De-Soldering of components to IPC610Complete and present projects using analysed failure dataProficient in a wide range of test equipment including optical meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers.Education or Experience : HNC equivalent time served experience required in electrical/electronic technology, opticsExperience in a manufacturing environment and assembly knowledge requiredA knowledge of GE Grid Solutions and SAP functions is essentialBe familiar and able to use a wide range of test equipmentAble to read and follow PCB circuit diagramsProficiency in use of MS Office products (Word, Excel etc).Have a strong knowledge of relay hardware for component-level analysisOther Skills : Strong interpersonal skills – Must have the ability to work well independently and in a team environmentDependability – Must be regular in attendance, punctual, attentive to detail and dedicated to meeting deadlinesInitiative – Must be willing to learn and take on new challenges; must have the ability to follow instructions and ask questions when necessary, ability to work with minimal supervision to achieveAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
