Electrical Technician  Dewsbury £25,000 - £30,000Immediate Start Available  Perpetual Engineering is currently working in partnership with a progressive industry leader in the design, build and installation of complex mechanical/electrical systems with UK headquarters in Yorkshire.  The UK arm of the business have recently been awarded a number of high-value capital projects and the group are now looking to invest in recruiting ambitious and driven individuals into the business to help fulfil these and future project requirements. Due to this recent expansion, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician.  So if you are looking to work for a forward-thinking, progressive business who invest in their people then please read on.The Role This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and hands-on Electrical Technician with a passion for continuous improvements and an eye for detail. You will work as part of a specialist team building and installing controls panels and instrumentation for high-value capital equipment. You will be expected to identify components from locations, follow and interpret electrical engineering drawings and work from instructions to assemble machinery.Responsibilities: • To pre-wire, assemble & test equipment as described on Work Instruction Sheets, GA and P&ID drawings as required to meet production schedules for both on-site and off-site installations. • Test equipment as required and stated in the FAT/SAT • To undertake on-site installation duties as required, in compliance with the individual site working practices and safety requirements. • Global Travel to carry out site work. • Site Reports to be completed on-site, signed off by the client then submitted to the Project Engineer on your return.The person Reporting to the Workshop Manager the ideal candidate will have proven skills in engineering, a solid background in electrical assembly and installation, instrumentation and possess some mechanical knowledge. Suitable applicants will have preferably completed an apprenticeship and ideally hold 18th edition. Working knowledge of variable speed drives, hazardous area equipment and PLC systems would be an advantage.Qualifications and Experience3 years’ experience working in shop floor panel wiring or electrical fitting position.Hold a recognized time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent. 17th Edition qualification as a minimum Able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of electrical test/inspection equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.Current working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures is essential.Possess a professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a wider team.
