Construction Lawyer (non contentious) , Managing Associate

The GroupThe Real Estate Division is one of Addleshaw Goddard's largest, comprising a team in excess of 250. Within Construction nationally, there are 16 partners and 65 other fee earners.The work of the group is hugely varied and includes Real Estate, Banking and PFI/Projects support in addition to a significant amount generated from within the construction group itself. Projects and advice cover the whole range of construction, engineering and procurement issues across both public and private sectors. The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Construction Managing Associate to join the team to work on a variety of construction matters. This will focus predominantly on non-contentious matters but it would be beneficial if the candidate also had contentious experience.You will handle your own matters (with supervision) and assist the Partners and Legal Directors on more complex matters. Knowledge, skills And Experience Required A minimum of four years' experience predominantly in transactional non-contentious construction law, which includes building work, preferably with some process plant, energy, utility and/or infrastructure experienceThe ability to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.The ability to contribute to the general upkeep of the group (whether that be to training, precedents, or know-how generally).A proven record of a high standard of client care for existing clients at the highest level.The enthusiasm to market to clients.Displays a knowledge of key areas of the law by providing clear, precise, practical advice and has experience of and/or an appetite to do some contentious work as needed. BackgroundThe successful candidate will have: Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent.Non-contentious construction experience gained within a quality environment likely but not exclusively to be within a large or mid-tier firmExcellent drafting skillsStrong commercial awarenessExcellent organisation skillsProven team working abilities
