Job Category: Construction Job Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, United Kingdom Commercial Gas Engineer - North East - £32-£34k We are currently working with a leading FM organisation who are recuiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer to support across range of commercial premises in the North East. The client are a national organisation and have a long term contract in place to maintain 10+ facilities in North East which were originally built by the construction side of the business. This is a PFI contract so any experience in similar contracts or fast paced environments would be great. Your role: The main purpose of the job is to undertake all Mechanical & Commercial Gas Appliance planned maintenance, reactive and other tasks as directed by Operational Management and the Customer Support Centre. There also may be an opportunity to progress into a supervisory position which would entail: supervising a small maintenance team on the maintenance and reactive repairs of commercial mechanical and electrical building services and associated equipment. Your day to day duties: Carry out Mechanical planned/reactive/additional works in educational buildings, including minor works, repairs, fault finding and fault diagnosis. Ensure compliance with the Gas Safe Regulations at all times, and that the appropriate materials used. To be fully conversant with all aspects of electrical installation works of both 230v and 400v. Attend any tasks issued which may include non-electrical jobs for which the post holder has the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake. To accept progress and complete accurately all works allocated via a portable electronic device and update all tasks in a timely manner. Read and interpret engineering drawings and building plans. As well as working core hours the post holder will be required to participate in the out of hours call out rota.
