Could this be you?About the Role:New Fern is our BRAND NEW specialist behaviour support service opening in Ovenden where we will be supporting young adults in transition from children’s services to adult services. This setting is a 4 bed residential service and here you will be supporting young adults with autism, learning disabilities, self injurious behaviour and behaviours that challenge.As a senior support worker you will lead a team of support workers to deliver exceptional care by modelling good and reflective practice. You will promote resilience and enthusiasm throughout the staff team to ensure everyone works effectively and cohesively in the best interests of the people we support. You will be involved in the day to day maintenance of support plans, reviews, medication, finances and supervisions in addition to other responsibilities and duties.You must be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach as this will be a challenging environment to work in, although equally rewarding. You will understand the importance of reflective practice and be involved in debriefs and incident analysis to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individual.Whilst no two days are the same typically, you will have a hands on approach to lead the team to support the individuals with everyday challenges such as encouraging and prompting personal cares, meal preparation, housekeeping, medication, attending health appointments and taking part in hobbies & activities. CrDue to the nature of the role, you should have previous senior or leadership experience within a similar environment.This is a full time position which will include working on a rota basis working predominantly days and occasional waking nights.Your training and induction will include input from the behaviour support practioners, e-learning, virtual face to face sessions, MAPA training and shadowing.
