Apprentice - Heating and Ventilation Pipe Fitter

Job title: Heating and Ventilation Pipe Fitter Apprentice Location: Oldbury What is a heating and ventilation pipe fitter?At a fixed workplace in Oldbury mechanical service modules are assembled for delivery to our UK wide projects, to be installed on-site at LOR new builds, such as hospitals, schools and airports by an additional team. These modules are assembled by a team of mechanical pipe fitters and electricians. As a mechanical pipe fitter you would be part of a delivery focused assembly team that are provided frames and large pipe work from other areas of production, to then be tasked with fabrication of smaller pipe work services, brackets and valving circuits to then be installed and completed to a fixed design before being pressure tested and delivered to a large customer team. Traditional pipe fitting skills are gained, and quality fabrications and installs are learnt and utilised every day on several exciting projects. The Laing O'Rourke Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme - what can you expect?The Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme provides you with a formal college education, leading to a Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standard in your chosen vocation. You will also gain a broad set of trade technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by our qualified and experienced workforce, and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing your apprenticeship What are we looking for?We are looking for people with a genuine interest in construction and the built environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with the potential to progress to a supervisory / management role over a five-to-ten-year period.
