We are looking for an experienced Refrigeration Air Conditioning Engineer based near Mansfield.We are keen to speak to Engineers that are experienced but also to Engineers that don't have all the experience or qualifications below as there are potential training possibilities for the right people.You will need a sound understanding of the fundamental principles of refrigeration backed up by hands on practical experience, a strong work ethic and a “can do” attitude. Carrying out fault finding activities on heavy commercial / light industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and resolving any faults found. Servicing refrigeration and air conditioning systems to standards laid down in service contracts. Installing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in accordance with method statements. Commissioning refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in line with company commissioning procedures. Providing on-call cover at weekends to an agreed rota (currently 1 weekend in 3, on call payment paid) which includes checking the refrigeration plant on site. Meeting timescales and quality standards required by the company and its customers in order to enable “first time fixes” wherever possible while minimising complaints from customers.Essential Experience At least 3 years of extensive post-apprenticeship experience carrying out fault-finding, servicing and installation on all types of refrigeration equipment including (but not limited to) bottle coolers, undercounter and upright fridges/freezers, display counters/cabinets, drugs fridges, ice machines, cellar coolers, walk-in cold rooms, mortuaries, etc. (light industrial / heavy commercial refrigeration). Some experience/awareness of fault finding, servicing and installation of air conditioning, fan coil and air handling systems (including chillers / secondary systems).Essential Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications City Guilds or CITB Category 1 F-Gas qualification (lapsed qualifications will be considered). Sound underpinning knowledge of the fundamentals of refrigeration including the vapour compression cycle. A methodical and logical approach to problem solving / fault finding on refrigeration and air conditioning systems Able to fit a variety of components to systems such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, valves, pumps, thermostats, probes/sensors, controllers, timers, etc. Competent brazing/soldering on varying diameters and positions of pipework. Competent use of refrigeration and electrical test equipment. Awareness of Risk Assessments and Method Statements and hazards associated with refrigeration and air conditioning activities. Full driving licence - ideally clean but no more than 6 points.In addition to the above the following experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications are desirable. Experience of pack compressor systems (screw, reciprocating, scroll, etc.). Experience with alternative refrigerants (such as ammonia). Ammonia, CO2 and/or Hydrocarbon Safe Handling qualification. IOSH Working Safely qualification or CSCS card (or equivalent). IEE 17th Edition qualification. NVQ Level 2 or higher in Refrigeration Air Conditioning. CITB Essential/Refrigeration Electrics qualification. CITB Brazing qualification.
