Admissions Clerk

The University of Cambridge is seeking a full-time Admissions Senior Clerk to support the work of the Postgraduate Admissions Office. The Postgraduate Admissions Office is responsible for the admission of students to doctoral and non-doctoral postgraduate courses at the University of Cambridge. The office currently receives in excess of 24,000 applications annually from UK and International students.The Admissions Senior Clerk is one of three Admissions Senior Clerks, who are collectively responsible for carrying out the offer making process for all applicants; processing documentation submitted as evidence to meet offer conditions; confirming applicants' admission once all offer conditions have been satisfactorily met; and processing the CAS for students requiring visas. In addition to the above responsibilities, the role holder also liaises with applicants, departments, degree committees and Colleges about the admissions process and carries out administration requests such as deferrals, transferring applications more suitable to a different course to the correct department, adding new universities, distributing offers for checking, running a report to distribute applications for document checking, resolving duplicate applications and other administration processes in the Senior Clerk remit. Responsibilities include being the point of contact for those areas, maintain oversight and data and carrying out process improvement. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer orientated skills, and experience of providing a responsive and timely administrative service, preferably in higher education. Also important is the ability to digest and understand policy, scrutinise documentation, an eye for detail, be able to work independently to complete work to tight deadlines, and to use your initiative and judgment.
